BARDA Makes $26 Million Purchase Of Monkeypox Drug Tecovirimat

HHS is increasing its supply of the drug tecovirimat, or TPOXX, by purchasing a supply of the approved smallpox and experimental monkeypox treatment’s intravenous formulation from its manufacturer. The purchase will supply the federal government’s Strategic National Stockpile with an alternative to the drug’s pill format.
