House Energy & Commerce Democrats passed early Wednesday (Sept. 15) proposals that would make the Children’s Health Insurance Program permanent in addition to requiring states to keep children continuously enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP for one year and providing Medicaid postpartum coverage to new mothers for one year.
