OIG: Two-Fifths Of Nursing Home Residents Had Or Likely Had COVID-19

The HHS Office of the Inspector General found about 40% of Medicare beneficiaries in nursing homes had or probably had COVID-19 -- with dually eligible residents and Black, Hispanic and Asian beneficiaries more likely to contract it. The inspector general suggests CMS do more analysis by looking at Medicare claims data in order to better protect nursing home residents moving forward.
