HHS Faces Growing Pressure From Congress, Providers On COVID-19 Relief

A bipartisan group of 77 lawmakers are joining hospitals’ push to have HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra extend the deadline to spend provider relief funds and expedite distribution of the remaining COVID-19 relief. Meanwhile, the American Ambulance Association wants to see HHS set aside about $1.43 billion in provider relief for ground ambulance service providers that the group says need nearly double that to cover initial COVID-19 costs and decreased revenue.
