President Joe Biden’s pick to head CMS, Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, has criticized Medicaid work requirements and excessive Medicaid redeterminations as barriers to coverage and has suggested some type of federal coverage guarantee is needed to protect beneficiaries in states that have expanded Medicaid from potential coverage rollbacks.
