Doctor-Funded Study: Part B Pay Formula Does Not Encourage Doctors To Prescribe Expensive Drugs

The Medicare formula that pays doctors to administer drugs does not encourage doctors to prescribe expensive drugs over cheap drugs, according to a study paid for by doctors who earn much of their revenue from administering drugs. Both the Trump administration and its predecessor proposed to change the Part B formula, though their approaches and reasoning differed.
