OIG: CMS Inaccurately Authorized $434.4 Million In Financial Assistance Payments To QHPs In 2014

The HHS Office of Inspector General found that in 2014 CMS improperly authorized $434.4 million in financial assistance payments to qualified health plan issuers for 461,127 policies, and recommended that CMS work with the Department of Treasury to collect the improper payments, which CMS doesn’t plan to do.
