Short-Term Plans Final Rule Pending At OMB

The final version of the Trump administration’s long-awaited, controversial rule expanding short-term plans landed at the White House Office of Management and Budget for review on Wednesday (July 18) and could be released shortly. The proposed rule, which reverses Obama-era regulation that limited short-term plans to three months, would let individuals purchase health insurance plans that do not meet the Affordable Care Act's requirements for a period of 364 days. Some stakeholders also want the plans to have “guaranteed renewability”...
