Telehealth Stakeholders Tell HHS PHE Extension Is Necessary

Telehealth stakeholders are asking HHS to extend the COVID-19 pandemic public health emergency (PHE) beyond July to keep certain pandemic flexibilities in place and prevent the creation of a telehealth cliff. A handful of flexibilities were left out of the post-PHE 151-day telehealth waiver extension included in the omnibus funding law and some lobbyists say those flexibilities need to be codified before the PHE ends.
