Scott, Carper Draft Bill Extending At-Home Care Waivers For Patients

A bipartisan Senate duo, rallied by home-based care advocates, plans to push for a two-year extension of a pandemic waiver that allows in-home care to substitute for certain Medicare inpatient procedures, and they hope to get the measure tucked into the upcoming omnibus funding package, lobbyists say. The two-year extension would give lawmakers time to build support for permanent legislation making home-based use of telehealth and innovative technologies an alternative to certain inpatient procedures.
