Johns Hopkins Hikes Pressure On CMS To Extend Telehealth Supervision By Residents

Johns Hopkins is pressing CMS to clarify that physicians can be at any location when supervising telehealth visits conducted by a resident, after agency officials recently informed providers that flexibility would be coming to an end when the public health emergency ends midnight May 11. The move comes as lawmakers also push President Joe Biden to extend use of virtual direct supervision for medical trainees as CMS has for other health care professionals.
