CMS on Wednesday (July 30) did not finalize the ability for Licensed Nurse Practitioners and Licensed Vocational Nurses to conduct follow-up visits via telehealth in the final hospice pay rule . Even though these virtual visits were left out of the final rule, a key Medicare stakeholder is pushing for increased collection of telehealth data to understand the characteristics of using virtual appointments for hospice care.
