Wyden: HHS Violated Non-Interference Clause In Negotiations With Pfizer

The top Senate Finance Committee Democrat says the Trump administration violated the non-interference clause by pressuring Pfizer to reverse course on price hikes for more than 40 drugs. Policy watchers have questioned whether multiple parts of HHS' drug pricing plan could run afoul of the provision, which prohibits the government from getting involved in negotiations involving drug makers, Part D plans and pharmacies, and congressional appropriators appear concerned.
