WTO Approves Controversial Partial TRIPS Waiver

The World Trade Organization has reached an official deal on a partial waiver of the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights for COVID-19 vaccines after going overtime at its 12th ministerial conference. Business groups immediately blasted the agreement as going too far while civil society groups said it didn’t go far enough.
