Sens. Cornyn, Bennet Want To Pay Doctors More To Use Biosimilars

Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Michael Bennet (D-CO) introduced a brand-backed bill that would direct Medicare to test a policy of sharing with doctors some of the savings from prescribing biosimilars over their brand counterparts. CMS already has the authority to run a biosimilars demonstration but hasn’t, so the legislation would make the agency do so. The Cornyn-Bennet bill is similar to House legislation that Rep.
