SCOTUS Purdue Decision Has Implications For Mass Tort Health Cases

The Supreme Court has blocked a settlement between drug maker Purdue Pharma and plaintiffs harmed by the opioid crisis, with the court’s majority saying bankruptcy law does not permit a settlement shielding Purdue’s executives and owners, the Sackler family, from personal liability.
