PhRMA Draws Hospitals Into Drug Pricing Fray

Hospitals on Friday (Feb. 12) fought back against a brand drug industry report that blames hospital consolidation, high hospital charges and the 340B drug discount program for high drug prices. The American Hospital Association said the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America report is misleading because it excludes Medicare and Medicaid and does not acknowledge the services that hospitals provide the uninsured and under-insured thanks to the 340B program.
