Sixty-plus groups representing patients with disabilities and chronic diseases are objecting to a recent policy change by Cigna that they say the insurer uses to coerce non-medical switching of drugs. Cigna is using a $500 debit card to encourage members to switch to Cigna-preferred drugs. At issue is Cosentyx, a brand biologic for multiple rheumatic diseases with a list price that has increased significantly in recent years.
