Michigan Gov. Signs Laws To Combat Opaque PBM Practices

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has signed into law bills to ban spread pricing in Medicaid and to license pharmacy benefit managers and make them disclose information about their business practices. The bills are based on recommendations by the governor’s Prescription Drug Task Force, which was established in 2020. Whitmer signed three PBM reform bills, though there is some overlap among them.
