HHS Buys 100 Million COVID-19 Vaccines From Janssen For $1 Billion

The Trump administration will pay Janssen, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, $1 billion to develop and deliver 100 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, the company announced Wednesday (Aug. 5). That’s on top of the $456 million that HHS awarded the company earlier this year to develop the vaccine. The deal also gives the United States an option to order an additional 200 million doses.
