Coupon Measure May Drive Autoimmune Patients To Hospitals

Doctors say a measure aimed at undermining drug coupons in the Senate’s leading drug pricing bill could force patients with autoimmune conditions into hospitals where they are at greater risk of catching the coronavirus. Gastroenterologists were on Capitol Hill last week to tell lawmakers about how the measure could hurt doctors’ ability to care for those patients, but the Senate author of the Prescription Drug Pricing Reduction Act (S. 2543) is giving no indication he will eliminate the provision.
