Seniors’ advocates are using the new drug pricing law’s $35 monthly cap on insulin costs as leverage for testing $35 out-of-pocket caps on other drugs. However, Avalere projects that capping drug costs would increase Medicare spending, and by law successful demonstrations cannot increase Medicare costs.
