House Rep. Larry Bucshon (R-IN) told Inside Health Policy he hopes to get a bipartisan bill that would bolster pharmacists’ ability to administer and prescribe tests, treatments and vaccinations for COVID-19, influenza, strep throat and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) included in an end-of-the-year legislative package. The Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services Act would bring back testing and administration flexibilities first established during the COVID-19 public health emergency that included Medicare coverage for pharmacist-administered tests for common respiratory illnesses...
