Booker, Sanders, Harris Propose Federal Agency To Suggest Drug Prices

Democratic presidential candidates Cory Booker (NJ), Bernie Sanders (VT) and Kamala Harris (CA) introduced a Senate bill to create an agency to review drug prices, the Bureau of Prescription Drug and Affordability Access. The legislation would vest the HHS secretary with the power to eliminate drug exclusivities and let other companies make copies of branded drugs when brand drug makers don’t comply with the new agency’s proposed list prices.
