Advocates Tout Drug Patent Bills As Pay-For Amid Health Reform, Approps Uncertainty

Health care advocates say bipartisan prescription drug patent reforms could emerge as a pay-for for other pressing health care priorities if Congress is able to cobble together a health extender package by this spring, particularly since hospital site-neutral offsets appear to be falling by the wayside, or could be sidelined for consideration later in the year along with pharmacy benefit manager and other health reforms.
