Brady Still Negotiating CHIP Offsets With Democrats

House Ways & Means Chair Kevin Brady (R-TX) said he is still negotiating with committee Democrats over offsets for legislation to fund the Children's Health Insurance Program for five more years, even though Energy & Commerce negotiations seemed to have broken down. Energy & Commerce Committee Chair Greg Walden (R-OR) said previously that, if the two parties couldn't agree by Oct. 13, Republicans would drop the negotiation efforts and vote on the CHIP funding bill when they returned this week...
