Wyman Finds Health Insurance Tax Increased Rates By 2.7 Percent In 2018

A new industry-funded report from Oliver Wyman finds the Affordable Care Act's tax on most health insurance plans increased premiums by about 2.7 percent for 2018, and estimates premiums are on track to grow by similar amounts over the next 10 years. Congress delayed the tax for 2017, but it goes back into effect in future years, and repealing or delaying the tax is a key priority for issuers, including UnitedHealthGroup, which funded the study.
