Wyden, Crapo Eye AI Legislation For Medicare, Cassidy’s Role Unclear

The leading Democrat and Republican on the Senate Finance Committee signaled they are interested in working on health care-specific artificial intelligence legislation aimed at improving oversight of the technology in Medicare and Medicaid. Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), one of the first legislators to discuss a need for health care-specific AI legislation, has not made public whether he would work with his Finance colleagues on what seems to be their push towards more guardrails on the technology.
