Virginia House Approves Bill Seeking Medicaid Work Requirements

The Virginia House of Delegates voted Tuesday (Feb. 13) to add work requirements to traditional Medicaid while state policymakers debate whether to expand the program. The work-requirements bill would direct the state's Medicaid agency to apply to CMS for a waiver allowing Virginia to condition Medicaid benefits for some beneficiaries on participation in up to 20 hours a week of employment or public service.
