United Will Extend Cost-Free COVID-19 Treatment Through July 24

The nation’s largest health insurer, UnitedHealthcare, will extend its policy of providing treatment for COVID-19 without cost-sharing through July 24, a spokesperson tells Inside Health Policy. The cost-free coverage for enrollees in all UnitedHealthcare’s fully insured products had been slated to end June 1. Since the outbreak, most issuers said that they would cover COVID-19 testing without cost-sharing and many said they’d cover treatment cost-free.
