Trump, Johnson Silent On Tax Treatment Of Employer Coverage

Neither the Trump campaign nor House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) are weighing in on whether they would support capping the tax exclusion for employer-sponsored coverage, despite the policy’s inclusion in several GOP health reform proposals -- including the Republican Study Committee’s 2025 budget proposal out in March that incorporates policies from the 58-page health “Framework for Personalized, Affordable Care” spearheaded by Johnson and other RSC health care task force members in 2019.
