States Promote Mid-Year Rate Adjustments For MCOs Struggling Post-COVID

Several state Medicaid directors said recently that mid-year rate adjustments will address the post-unwinding concerns over rising costs that Medicaid managed care plans have made as they take care of beneficiaries with greater acuity and health care use. Officials from Illinois, Oklahoma, Hawaii and Utah made the comments during a press briefing at the National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) conference in November.
