A panel of state regulators this week took steps to rein in improper marketing of health insurance products, approving a revision to a model law that would give states authority over health insurance lead generators that gather information to pass along to brokers -- yet regulators, among others, believe the lead generators are responsible for the proliferation of misleading, deceptive marketing of plans that do not have to adhere to Affordable Care Act rules.
