Officials responsible for running state-based Affordable Care Act exchanges are urging Senate leadership to reject the House-passed reconciliation bill’s exchange-related policy shifts, including new enrollment verification requirements and restrictions on tax credits, which, when coupled with the failure to extend the enhanced premium tax credits, would upend state-based insurance exchanges by increasing costs, adding administrative burdens and stripping states’ decision-making authority, they say.
