Stakeholders Urge Congress To Reject Bill That Would Eliminate NEMT Benefit

A wide-ranging group of patient advocates is pushing Congress to reject House legislation sponsored by Indiana Republican Susan Brooks that would remove Medicaid's guarantee of coverage of non-emergency medical transportation services. The advocates say the NEMT is cost-effective, and a critical service for some of Medicaid's most vulnerable patients, including those needing mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as patients undergoing dialysis.
