Stakeholders Raise Concerns Over CMS Risk Adjustment Pooling Idea

Insurance companies and others in the health industry are questioning CMS' idea to create a new high-cost pool of enrollees under the Affordable Care Act's risk adjustment program, warning the agency that the plan could lead to cheating of the system, higher costs of care and an imbalance in compensation between hospitals and insurers.
