Some States Defy Federal Requirements On Medicaid Abortion Coverage

Fourteen state Medicaid programs are violating federal law by not covering a drug used to induce medical abortions, and one state -- South Dakota -- is violating federal law by refusing to provide Medicaid coverage of abortions in cases of rape and incest, the Government Accountability Office said in a report Monday (Feb. 4) .
