Senate Stimulus Deal Lacks Key FDA Provisions Included In Pelosi Bill

The Senate’s draft stimulus compromise floated Wednesday (March 25) fails to include key FDA-related provisions that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) pushed for in her version of the stimulus package released earlier this week. Pelosi’s bill included language that would direct FDA to set up centers of excellence for continuous manufacturing and give FDA new authority to destroy counterfeit imported medical devices.
