Senate Rejects 10-Year State AI Moratorium On 99-1 Vote

The Senate voted 99-1 in the early hours of July 1 to remove a 10-year moratorium on state artificial intelligence regulation from the massive reconciliation bill carrying President Trump’s tax and spending agenda, after a compromise unraveled on a shorter freeze with more exceptions for state-level AI controls.
