Senate Appropriators Add $1 Million In New FDA Funding, Advance Bill To Full Committee

The Senate Appropriations agriculture subcommittee advanced its fiscal 2018 FDA funding bill Tuesday (July 18), paving the way for full committee consideration Thursday (July 20). The bill adds $1 million in discretionary funding for FDA over the fiscal 2017 enacted level -- an increase not included in the appropriations bill moving in the House -- but the Senate bill does include the $60 million in additional funding to implement the 21st Century Cures Act also proposed by House appropriators.
