Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) is in the early stages of drafting a bill to establish an antimicrobial subscription model to encourage the development of innovative antimicrobial drugs. The model would guarantee qualified new antibiotics makers a guaranteed reimbursement level, getting around the disincentive of policy makers discouraging use of antibiotics to prevent antimicrobial resistance.
