Consumer advocacy group Public Citizen sued FDA on Tuesday (Sept. 10) for not acting on the group’s 2018 citizen petition to ban cesium chloride from dietary supplements. FDA research shows cesium chloride use is associated with severe heart problems, and while the agency has proposed rules banning the substance from use in compounded drugs, it has not yet banned the cesium chloride from dietary supplements.
