Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) floated the idea of “preliminary inspectors” to help FDA’s foreign drug inspection program cover more ground at a Tuesday (Feb. 6) hearing by the Energy & Commerce oversight and investigations subcommittee, which he chairs. The hearing furthered lawmakers' investigation on why foreign inspections remain lower than their pre-COVID-19 levels as quality concerns about drugs and drug shortages remain.
