The Virginia General Assembly on Wednesday (April 22) agreed to pause a proposal to extend Medicaid for more low-income women up to a year after giving birth, falling in the footsteps of Washington state and squashing the hopes of maternal health advocates as COVID-19 stretches state budgets.
