PhRMA Pauses Funding To Election Deniers; Super PACs Unaffected

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America is pausing political donations to Republicans who voted against certifying the presidential election. PhRMA-affiliated political action committees and individual members gave $490,000 in political donations last year, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), an election objector, was the second biggest recipient of that sum behind incoming president Joe Biden, according to Open Secrets, which tracks donations.
