ONC Considers Adding Pricing Info To Electronic Health Information

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT is considering a regulatory move to give the public, plans and health providers data about health care prices via electronic health information, and in a proposed rule released earlier this month the office asks for feedback on technical, operational, legal, cultural, environmental and other challenges to increasing price transparency.
