ONC Acquisition Rule To Mandate Use Of ONC-Certified Technologies

Health information technology stakeholders were left reeling over the release of a proposed acquisition regulation Thursday (Aug. 8) that would mandate government health grantees use only government-certified information technologies, which would virtually eliminate the ability for payers, health systems and other government partners to independently choose their information technology systems.
