OGC Reorganization Suggests ASTP Will Remain Independent Agency, Staff Cuts Still Possible

A recent reorganization of the HHS Office of the General Counsel (OGC) may suggest the department is not planning to fold its chief health information technology and artificial intelligence office (ASTP/ONC) into CMS, despite a recent White House meeting that raised concerns the Trump administration would enact an ASTP-CMS merger with steep staffing cuts.
