Nursing Homes Ask HHS For $10 Billion For PPE, Testing, Staff Pay

The American Health Care Association is asking HHS for $10 billion in emergency funding for nursing homes to pay for expanded testing, personal protective equipment and additional staff necessary to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, which they say is in line with what hospitals have received. “Our ask to HHS is to create a specific fund for long term care, just as the agency has done for hospitals.
