New House Bill Would Force FDA's Hand On Office-Use Compounding

House lawmakers will unveil next week a bipartisan bill that would force FDA to loosen its restrictions on office-use compounding and would permit the controversial practice of compounding certain dietary supplements, congressional and industry sources tell Inside Health Policy . The bill, which industry says clarifies the Drug Quality and Security Act, also specifies that states have regulatory authority over interstate dispensing of compounded drugs for an individual with a prescription, and seeks to force FDA to engage in rulemaking...
